FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. (WTVD) -- A Wake County family is in Florida searching for their missing 18-year-old son, who disappeared while on vacation.

Giovanni Pelletier, an 18-year-old who is described as "smart, kind and full of life," disappeared early last Friday under deeply troubling and suspicious circumstances," according to the family's GoFundMe page.

"When we lay down at night, that's the hard part," said Jeremy Brown, whose fiancée is Pelletier's mother, Bridgette. "When we're not searching because we're out there searching, we have the ability to go to the next place."
