Oliver Callan: Silly hyphens, vile smells and no oversight – why bonkers bottle-return scheme makes my blood boil

Nothing makes me want to go mad as hell quite like Ireland’s Deposit Re-turn nightmare. Even the maddeningly stupid hyphen in “Re-turn” makes my blood dre-am of re-venge.

This recycling disaster has been implemented with the usual Irish botchedness that we’re now culturally inured to.
