MADISON, Neb. — Before the prosecution rested its case-in-chief against Carrie Jones on Wednesday, jurors saw evidence that showed she urged her husband, Jason Jones, to look for Gene Twiford the day before Twiford and three others were killed.

Carrie Jones, 46, is charged with first-degree murder, evidence tampering and being an accessory in connection to the Aug. 4, 2022, killings of Twiford, 86, and his wife, Janet Twiford, 85; their daughter, Dana Twiford, 55; and Michele Ebeling, 53, in the early-morning hours of Aug. 4, 2022. Jason Jones set both the Twiford and Ebeling houses on fire after shooting the victims.
