A state District Court judge Tuesday ordered a young man accused in a recent deadly shooting at the University of New Mexico to be held in jail pending a trial.

John Patrick Fuentes, 18, will remain jailed on a count of first-degree murder and other felony charges related to a late July shooting in Albuquerque that killed 14-year old Michael LaMotte and wounded another young man. New details have come to light regarding the incident, including the alleged use of a cocktail of psychedelic drugs and alcohol by all four of the teenagers who were present in the dorm room the night the boy was killed.

Fuentes' attorney also claimed the two other young men who were present — 19-year-old Zion Miera and 18-year-old Daniel Archuleta — had each brought guns into the dorm.
