James “Jim” Ordell Jones, age 80, died peacefully Sunday, Aug. 3, 2025, at his home in Logandale, Nevada. He was born Sept. 12, 1944, in St. George, Utah to Ordell and Loraine Hoyt Jones. On Sept. 9, 1966, he married Kathy Rae Dalton in the St. George Temple. She preceded him in death on May 30, 2021.

Jim spent much of his early life in St. George, Utah. He attended Dixie High School, served in the national guard and served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Australia. After returning from his mission Jim worked with his father and brothers as general contractors building homes, with a focus mainly on masonry work. He had a passion for work and shared his work ethic with his children. While raising his family he resided in Payso
