US Vice President JD Vance is set to stay with the Foreign Secretary at his Kent mansion this summer.
The politician and his family will begin their holiday tomorrow at David Lammy’s Grade I-listed country house in Chevening near Sevenoaks.
According to the Telegraph, the pair have developed a warm friendship, bonding over their difficult childhoods and shared Christian faith.
It comes after reports that the Tottenham MP attended mass at Mr Vance’s Washington home during a visit in March and now hopes to return the favour.
David Lammy’s relationship with the vice president follows previous criticisms of Donald Trump.
He had described him as a “racist and KKK/neo-Nazi sympathiser” when Labour was in opposition, but since coming to power has brushed off his remarks as “old news”.
