A new store selling CBD and THC products opened in Conover with the goal of attracting people in search of ways to relax.

Summer Flower opened in early July at 902 Conover Blvd E., adjacent to a Citgo gas station.

Kas Matos is the owner of Summer Flower. Matos is not a stranger to cannabis stores. He has a store in Cornelius called Twiggs Cannabis.

He said success at that store inspired him to come to Catawba County and open Summer Flower.

“What we found naturally is we were focusing on what our customers would want,” Matos said. “Our demographic in Cornelius is a little bit older, a working professional. We have a lot of consumers that would rather take a CBD product or a D-9 (delta-9) product or a THC product rather than some of these sleep medications or stress relief medications.
