New Orleanian Anthony Mackie’s career is firing on all cylinders. Not only does he have his own Captain America movie this year, “Captain America: Brave New World,” but his series “Twisted Metal,” of which he is both the star and executive producer, has just begun its second season on Peacock.
Additionally, he’s been nominated for a pair of Emmys — one for Outstanding Daytime Personality on “Shark Beach with Anthony Mackie: Gulf Coast” and another for his guest turn on Apple TV+’s popular series “The Studio,” about the behind-the-scenes machinations of the Hollywood film industry. He’s in good company with that nomination, vying against Ron Howard, Bryan Cranston and Dave Franco.
Mackie's “Twisted Metal” series, which he oversees, is based on a video game released over 30 years ago.
