The state Department of Health has authorized the reopening of Kenichi Pacific restaurant in Kailua-Kona.
The DOH issued a green “pass” placard Tuesday during a follow-up inspection.
The food establishment operated by Dragonfly Hospitality Group was ordered to shut down last week due to multiple critical food safety violations.
Those violations included: Live cockroaches on food-contact surfaces; numerous live and dead cockroaches within the kitchen and food storage areas; food-contact equipment and surfaces were not clean to sight and touch; and facilities were not maintained and cleaned.
The DOH required Kenichi Pacific to complete numerous corrective actions. During the follow-up inspection, the DOH determined that all requirements had been met.
