Proposals to construct a massive 'AI data centre campus' in Edinburgh have been put before planning officials.

The site would include offices, an electricity substation, roads and footpaths, cycle and car parking, an internal and external plant and equipment, and emergency backup generators.

Developers have earmarked land west of Hermiston House Road in Currie, within the Edinburgh Green Belt. The zone sits near the National Robatarium and the Heriot Watt University campus.

The development would take about three years to complete once construction begins.
