A fire broke out at a nursing home in Somerset, Massachusetts, early Thursday morning.
Fire officials said the call came in just after 3:30 a.m. for a fire at the Somerset Ridge Center on Brayton Road, and firefighters arrived on scene to find flames were on the east wing of the second floor, in a community room.

Somerset Fire Chief Jamison Barros described the smoke conditions as moderate to heavy, with some active fire, as well, that was being held at bay due to sprinklers that were working as they should.
Barros commended staff for their quick actions in response to the fire, including moving residents from the rooms closest to the flames.
