Woman found dead in Phoenix apartment

Homicide detectives are investigating after a woman was found dead this week inside an apartment, Phoenix police said.

Officers responded 9:40 a.m. Aug. 4 to the apartment near 77th Avenue and Encanto Boulevard where they found a woman dead at the scene. She has not been identified.

The Office of the Medical Examiner took custody. Police said the case is pending identification of the woman, who was in her 20s.
