It's a scorcher outside, Valley residents.
The thermometer at Sky Harbor International Airport broke an all-time record Thursday at 118 degrees around 3:37 p.m., according to Katherine Berislavich, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Phoenix.
The 118-degree temperature is now the all-time high for the month of August, Berislavich said.
"We have a high pressure (system) sitting right over us," Berislavich said on Thursday afternoon.
The forecasted high for Friday is 112 degrees.
