Cambridgeshire is forecast to experience a return of scorching hot days in August, as the Met Office weighs in on the possibility of another heatwave. The area could see temperatures of around 28C by Monday, August 11. This hot weather is set to continue through the week with highs of 29C on both Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Met Office defines an official heatwave as three consecutive days of temperatures rising above a heatwave threshold. For the majority of the UK, the heatwave threshold is 25 degrees. For parts of the south and east, including Cambridgeshire , this temperature rises to 28 degrees.

The long-range forecast for the UK said that "hot and humid conditions are possible" in parts of the UK but how long the hot weather will last is currently "uncertain".
