Swiss International Air Lines is eagerly awaiting the arrival of its first Airbus A350-900s, which it will use in the coming years to modernize its long-haul fleet and operations. Yesterday, a key milestone was achieved on this front, as Airbus took a big step towards delivering SWISS's first A350 by operating its first test flight.

This saw the brand-new twin-aisle aircraft take to the skies over Toulouse in southwestern France before operating a lengthy test route throughout French airspace. While the duration was far short of the long-haul flights that the jet will be used for in commercial service, it allowed plenty of useful tests to be carried out.
