DOUGLAS COUNTY, Ga. — The victim in a crash last month allegedly caused by a Georgia law enforcement officer driving under the influence did not survive, the Georgia Department of Public Safety said.
Georgia DPS on Tuesday identified the victim in the July 4 wreck in Douglas County as 64-year-old Alcides Barria of Columbia, SC. He died on July 20 due to his injuries in the crash, Georgia DPS said.
A Georgia Department of Community Supervision parole and probation officer, Alexis Friendly, was arrested after the crash on I-20. She was allegedly driving her state vehicle at the time.
