SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) - Happy Thursday, Utah! We hit triple digits for the fifth time this year in Salt Lake City on Wednesday, and high heat with triple-digit heat is possible today.

Daytime highs will reach the upper 90s for most valleys, with the Wasatch Front seeing a few spots hit 100 degrees or higher. Temperatures will range from mid-80s to low-90s for higher terrain and mid-100s for hot spots like St. George.

Our southwest winds will aid in above-average temperatures and will keep highs about three to five degrees above seasonal norms. Our southwest flow has also allowed for some mid-level moisture to push into the state, so partly cloudy skies will start the day in the north, but many locations will stick with hazy, mostly sunny skies.

The bottom line? Above-average temperature
