MANCHESTER, N.H. —

New Hampshire Fish and Game officials said they had to call in the Army National Guard to help rescue a hiker in Coos County.

Officials got the call about a hiker with a serious leg injury on Castle Trail near Mount Jefferson on Wednesday morning.

Fish and Game officials said the hiker's location is a place that is very difficult to hike, let alone carry someone out on a stretcher.

A helicopter was able to safely get the Vermont man out and fly him to a hospital.
