TERA ALTA (WV News) — There's no threat to the public following a train derailment in Tera Alta early on Thursday morning, according to a CSX representative.

A CSX train derailed 12 empty hopper cars located north of Bridge Street and Saltlick Road in Terra Alta around 6:30 a.m., said Austin Staton, director of media relations.

"There were no leaks, spills, or injuries reported, and there is no threat to the surrounding community," he said in an email to WV News . "The cause of the incident is currently under investigation."
