MINEOLA, Texas (KLTV) - A wide variety of items across Texas stores, both in-person and online, will be exempt from sales tax this weekend from Friday, August 8, all the way through midnight on Sunday, August 10.

Exempt items include some clothing, footwear, school supplies, backpacks, and face masks. Each individual item must cost under $100, and must be bought in Texas to qualify. If purchasing items online, the item must be under $100 including delivery, shipping, handling and transportation fees.

The sale will both support businesses with increased traffic while also supporting people going shopping, especially teachers and parents preparing for back-to-school season.
