COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) - A burst sprinkler pipe at The Ralston forced residents out, reigniting concerns over long-standing infrastructure issues.
Officials say the pipe burst on the fourth floor of the Ralston, a building designated for low-income housing, causing a major leak in parts of the building.
Pat Frey with United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley said 14 residents are in temporary arrangements.
We met several residents who said that at this point, while they are used to being disappointed with issues similar to what happened Wednesday, it’s frustrating.
“They didn’t do enough to renovate,” said tenant Sharon Spease. “They didn’t do what was necessary, like the plumbing and electricity. I am happy to be here, I am.”
