MANCHESTER, N.H. —

A red-tailed hawk is recovering thanks to the Manchester Police Department's Animal Control Unit.

Officials said the bird was dazed and clearly in distress when they found it near Sagamore and Russell streets.

Officials said they are not sure if the bird suffered a concussion or ingested something toxic.

The Animal Control team safely captured the bird and brought it to a rehabilitation center.

Officials are hopeful the hawk will be soaring over Manchester again soon.
