The end of one chapter gives way to the start of another, and such is the case as teams around the state begin preparations for the 2025-26 school year.

Between realignment shuffling the deck for a number of local high schools, in addition to the arrival of a brand-new playoff format in several sports, the 2024-25 school year was a crucial one for the athletic programs throughout Collin County. In my particular coverage area, that meant plenty of memorable nights on the sidelines and in the stands covering high school sports in Plano, Allen, McKinney, Celina and Prosper.
