Ask Astro Arts Festival co-founders Drew Young and Steff Love what their hopes are for the inaugural edition of the Mount Pleasant-based arts bash and you get two answers, one short and one long, both equally impassioned.

For Young, his wish is simple for everyone that attends: “That they’ll tell their friends that we’re cool.”

For Love, the celebration—running August 8 to 10 on the 100-block of West 4th Ave.—will hopefully not only serve as a multidisciplinary community event, but also draw attention to a larger issue.
