NORTH PARK — Charlie Sullivan spent his life enjoying music and contributing to his community. Five years after his tragic death, his parents are working to continue his legacy.

The 23-year-old musician died from accidental fentanyl poisoning in 2020. His family founded the Charlie Sullivan Foundation for Music and Social Justice in his honor; for the past four years, they’ve organized the Chucky Ar La Fest, a concert that showcases new artists and raises money for groups that support young musicians.

This year’s festival is Saturday at Martyr’s, 3855 N. Lincoln Ave. The show will kick off about 5 p.m. and will feature nine performers. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. They can be bought here.
