A Pollokshields pizza takeaway has been given the green light to expand into an “eyesore” shop next door.
Glasgow’s planning committee backed Raja’s Pizza Bar’s bid to change the use of 244 Albert Drive earlier this week.
Nine neighbours opposed the proposal due to concerns over increased traffic and road safety issues as well as the potential for more noise, litter, pests and cooking fumes.
Council planners recommended the scheme was approved as they said it would bring an empty property back into use. Shopfront improvements to both units would “preserve and enhance” the appearance of East Pollokshields conservation area, they added.
