Authorities have recovered the bodies of two individuals from Walnut Lake in Benton County following a kayaking incident Tuesday evening.
According to WTVA, Benton County Sheriff Robby Goolsby said someone reported seeing two empty kayaks on the lake, prompting a search and rescue operation.
Crews located the body of a woman shortly before midnight, followed by the body of a man a few hours later.
Sheriff Goolsby said the victims were middle-aged siblings who lived in the area near the lake. Their names have not yet been released.
While the exact circumstances surrounding their deaths remain unclear, the sheriff said foul play is not suspected. The investigation is ongoing.
