DES MOINES, Iowa — The Iowa State Fair kicks off on Thursday, and the farmers market is back and bigger than its inaugural year last year.
The Iowa State Fair Farmers Market kicked off last year with five vendors near the Grandfather's Barn. This year, it's located at The Garden, which is just behind the Animal Learning Center and Little Hands on the Farm. There are also 13 vendors providing locally grown produce, fresh-cut flowers, jerky, handmade soaps, and so much more.
One of the vendors is Iowa Eats Well, a local business based in St. Charles that sells homemade jams. Lisa Cassady is the owner. She grew up on farms in Madison and Warren counties, and grew up attending the Iowa State Fair. She was even a 4-H member and showed sheep as a State 4-H Officer. Now, she brings her homemade
