CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — The state won what may be the final motion battle heading into the late August trial for Harrison County murder suspect Dennis Allen High.
High's court-appointed lawyers, Alex Harclerode and Christopher M. Wilson, earlier in the case had sought permission to retain an expert to conduct a criminal responsibility/diminished capacity evaluation of High through West Virginia Code 27-6A-4.
Part of the expert's opinion — that PTSD from a prior incident when High was stabbed during a home invasion didn't play a role in High's alleged actions in this homicide — apparently didn't come out the way the defense expected.
