As fans, we don’t have access to all of the information that the Mets’ front office does, but from where we’re sitting, it sure looks like the time has come for the Mets to give Nolan McLean or Brandon Sproat—or both of them—their first crack at major league innings. The starting rotation certainly isn’t the only problem that the has right now, but it is a significant one, as a combination of injury recovery and poor performance have created a scenario in which David Peterson is the only starting pitcher to complete six innings even one time in nearly fifty games.
