LONG BEACH, Miss. (WLOX) - A casino developer now wants to build a resort in the Long Beach Harbor south of Highway 90.
The Long Beach Board of Aldermen will hold a special meeting Thursday to discuss revised plans from Long Beach Harbor Resort, LLC.
In November, city leaders approved a lease with the company for a resort north of the highway on the old Kmart property. However, Mayor Tim Pierce tells WLOX News the company has not been able to come to terms on that north property.
The company now wants to build three acres from Parish’s Restaurant and the Long Beach Yacht Club north to Highway 90.
Right now, that area is boat trailer parking. Under this proposal, boat parking would move to the east.
