OXFORD, Miss. (WMC) - He was a star quarterback ready to complete one of the biggest stages of college football, but he before he could compete was kicked off the team.
That fall from grace landed him in a downward spiral of drugs, crime and a 40 year prison sentence.
Jared Foster, a former atheist, says he found his way to freedom through a book he read in prison that changed his life physically and spiritually.
“I was dressing out for varsity and practicing with varsity as a 12 year old,” Foster said.
Jared Foster began his football career at Canton Academy in Canton, Mississippi.
“My goal was to play for Ole Miss. That was my dad’s, my mom’s, as well and that was my dream. I was an Ole Miss Rebel from the day I was born.”
