A former youth pastor from Georgia is now behind bars after Baltimore County detectives say he’s been linked to multiple sex abuse cases dating back nearly two decades.

Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department’s Crimes Against Children Unit arrested 52-year-old Thomas "Tommy" Pinkerton following abuse allegations reported to have occurred between 2006 and 2010 at Central Christian Church.

According to investigators, the alleged abuse happened at the church in the 7400 block of Rossville Boulevard and at Pinkerton’s Baltimore County home, officials said.

The Georgia resident was extradited to Maryland on Wednesday and is now being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bond, police confirmed Thursday.

Pinkerton appears to run Georgia-based Souls4Christ with his wife, according to the church's website.

According to the "our story" section of the website, Pinkerton "received the call to ministry at age 12. The Holy Spirit brought to his attention Mark 16:15-18. A desire to go and preach the gospel came alive in his heart." After giving his first sermon at 17 and graduation from the World Harvest Bible College, he "evangelized the U.S. for two years" then continued his education at Southwestern Christian University in Bethany, OK. He graduated with a B.S. in Biblical Studies.

In 2000, He married his wife, also a graduate of SCU, a singer and songwriter. The two have been in ministry together for over 20 years and have two sons together, the church site says.

“Detectives do believe there may be more victims of Pinkerton’s abuse who have yet to come forward,” the department added.
