CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- Charlotte-Douglas International Airport experienced a hiccup overnight during a routine system upgrade.
According to a statement from the airport:
“Overnight, after the final flights had departed, CLT Airport conducted a routine after-hours upgrade to the Airport’s access control system. Unfortunately, an unexpected issue occurred during the process, temporarily impacting the operation of doors and jetbridges. At no time was the safety or security of the Airport compromised.
We understand the inconvenience to a limited number of overnight passengers and employees in the terminal. The issue was resolved within a couple of hours, and normal operations resumed. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we worked quickly to address the situation.”
