YORK COUNTY — A suspect was taken into custody Wednesday after failing to stop for police, barricading himself in his residence and forcing a “shelter in place” order in the area of the 1700 block of Dandy Loop Road.

According to the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 12:32 p.m. Aug. 6, deputies responded to a call of a breaking and entering and robbery in the 700 block of Cheadle Loop Road in the Seaford area.

The suspect had left the residence and was later found by deputies, officials said. When they attempted to stop him, he would not pull over and continued on to the 1700 block of Dandy Loop Road, where he entered his residence. Residents in the area were asked to shelter in place and await further instructions from law enforcement.
