PALATKA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida mom was arrested after she left her teenage son and seven dogs in "vile living conditions' while she took a two-week birthday trip to Las Vegas, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said a family member living in another state called them on Monday evening to ask if they would check on a teenager living in a home on Songbird Lane in Palatka.

When deputies arrived at the home, they said a man outside told them he was "cleaning" before 37-year-old Jessica Copeland came home from a trip.

A teenager living in the home came outside and told deputies there were no issues and everything was fine, according to the sheriff's office.
