Adam Forrester, Hearts’ 20-year-old defender, is on the move. The club have entered into a co-operation agreement with Championship outfit, St Johnstone.

It’s the Gorgie club’s second co-operation link after B Team centre-back and captain, Kenzi Nair, signed for Scottish League Two side, Spartans.

The initiative allows Premiership clubs to partner with one team in each of the three Scottish Professional Football League tiers below the top flight.

Simo Valakari’s Perth side are targeting an immediate return to the top flight after their relegation last term and Forrester is on loan for the rest of the season.

Derek McInnes, Hearts’ head coach, hopes right-back Forrester receives valuable game-time and he added: “It is crucial for him to keep developing and improving.”
