WATCH: Cubs Announcer Jinxes No-Hitter in a Game He Wasn’t Even Calling

An announcers covering the Chicago Cubs game Wednesday managed to jinx a no-hitter in a game in an entirely different time zone.

At New York’s Citi Field, Guardians pitcher Gavin Williams took a no-hitter into the ninth inning against the Mets . Williams started off the bottom of the ninth strong when he struck out Francisco Lindor . That brought up star outfielder Juan Soto .

As this was all going on, the Cubs were taking on the Cincinnati Reds at Wrigley Field. Cubs announcer Boog Sciambi admitted on the air that he was keeping a close eye on Williams’ performance.
