LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) - An owl is flying around Mid-Michigan that's not supposed to be there, and wildlife experts are asking the community to keep an eye out. • Snowy owl (Tami Montague) • Snowy owl (Tami Montague) • Snowy owl (Tami Montague)
A snowy owl is spending a lot of time on a lamp post along the US-127 I-96 interchange. It caught Kristin Wilhoit's eye as she was driving.
"I told my husband I think there's a hawk up there, but it was all white, it almost looked like an owl," said Wilhoit.
It couldn't be an owl, she thought. Then she went on Facebook and saw that there was, in fact, a snowy owl in the Greater Lansing area.
"I saw a picture and was like I'm not crazy, and I sent it to my husband, and said I really did see an owl," said Wilhoit.
