LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A 20-year-old man was hospitalized Wednesday night after crashing his motorcycle into another car in Lincoln.

On Wednesday just after 8 p.m., an officer tried to stop a blue Suzuki motorcycle near 52nd and O Street. However, the motorcyclist took off eastbound on O Street, according to Lincoln Police. The officer did not go after the motorcyclist because of safety concerns.

A few minutes later, police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews responded to a report of an accident involving a motorcycle and a car near 70th and A streets.

Police determined a 2016 white Mazda 6, driven by a 46-year-old Lincoln woman, was southbound on S. 70th near A Street. The woman was starting to merge into the inside lane when a blue Suzuki motorcycle ran into the car, police said.
