GREEN BAY – It sure sounds like Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur is going to play his starters during the preseason.

LaFleur has been noncommittal on what he’ll do when the Packers open the preseason Aug. 9 against the New York Jets at Lambeau Field.

But prior to practice Aug. 7, he said that the NFL has distributed data that shows that players who take part in preseason games fare better with injuries in the regular season.

Of course, that’s if they don’t get hurt.

“According to my sources, there’s a lot of injury data that supports playing guys in the preseason in regards to reducing the injury risk early in the season,” LaFleur said.
