NATCHITOCHES, La. (KALB) - A structure fire is active in the 100 block of Francis Street off of University Parkway in Natchitoches, according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office.

At 11 a.m., NPSO began assisting Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #6 with mutual aid assistance from the Natchitoches City Fire Department with the fire.

Natchitoches Regional Medical Center EMS has been contacted and dispatched to the scene for support.

Francis Street is currently shut down to allow fire unit response.
