The contract standoff between Jonathan Kuminga and the Golden State Warriors has dragged into this offseason with no resolution. The 22-year-old forward wants out and is reportedly interested in a fresh start with the Sacramento Kings . But the Warriors are not impressed by the Kings’ offer of Malik Monk and a protected 2030 first-round pick.

Kuminga reportedly turned down the Warriors ‘ two-year, $45 million offer. According to ESPN and Marc Stein, he opposed the team option and the requirement to waive his no-trade rights. His side feels the Warriors want too much control, especially after years of uneven playing time under coach Steve Kerr. At the same time, the Kings are ready to pay Kuminga like a starter, according to The Athletic.
