This off-season started with Kevin Durant ’s trade. Amid much speculation surrounding his next destination, the Houston Rockets emerged victorious to land KD from the Phoenix Suns. Many assumed that Durant’s arrival would immediately lead to a lucrative long-term deal. However, that assumption may not match the Rockets’ actual plans.

ESPN’s Tim MacMahon shed light on the situation during The Hoop Collective. MacMahon explained that while the Rockets clearly value Durant’s talent, they appear cautious about committing to a massive, long-term deal for the 36-year-old star.
