ST. MARYS, Pa. (WTAJ) — Drivers in St. Marys should prepare for traffic detours beginning Monday as PennDOT launches two infrastructure projects expected to impact travel through mid-September.

Crews will start repairing a railroad crossing on Route 120 (South Michael Street) and begin work to replace a deteriorating bridge on Route 1005 (Theresia Street), both beginning August 11.

The Buffalo & Pittsburgh Railroad will close the South Michael Street crossing Monday morning. During the closure, westbound traffic will detour via John, Stackpole, Depot, Fourth/Lawrence, and Washington streets. The same detour applies to vehicles trying to turn left onto South Michael Street from General Edward Meyer Boulevard.

Traffic from Route 255 southbound will not be affected by the railroad crossing
