JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) -- An urgent care facility in Johnstown is now a possibility after some help from state Representative Frank Burns (D-Cambria).
The urgent care facility can now move forward after a $200,000 state grant was awarded. The funds will go to removing asbestos in the building and installing 75 new windows to replace the previous asbestos-contaminated ones, work that is necessary for the project to continue.
Dr. George Frem, a local nephrologist, has already started several companies in the area that have provided healthcare to the community with a kidney center, lab, and three family practices. The Ave Maria Medical Care Center will be the latest in his endeavors to provide the Johnstown community with health care options.
