CHICAGO — A life-saving partnership between Northwestern Medicine and a rural hospital in the Philippines has helped hundreds of women experience a second chance at life.
Dr. Rumelle Reyes is an ob/gyn who practices in the Philippines at Salcedo doctor’s hospital. She’s been in Chicago the last several days training. On Thursday she observed Dr. Magdy Milad in the operating room as he performs surgeries on patients with a variety of uterine issues, including a congenital condition where the uterus is divided in two sections by a wall of tissue, preventing conception.
