An Olive Branch man has been sentenced to the maximum prison term allowed under Mississippi law after being convicted in two separate felony cases involving threats and violence against law enforcement officers.

Kevin Williamson was sentenced this week to 10 years in prison for retaliation against a public official and 5 years for aggravated assault, with 7 years of post-release supervision (PRS). The sentences will run concurrently, meaning Williamson will serve a total of 10 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

The retaliation conviction stems from a disturbing incident during a DUI arrest conducted by the Hernando Police Department, when Williamson, while handcuffed, threatened to “blow [an officer’s] brains out” if he ever saw him again.
