NEW YORK (PIX11) — Nearly 24 years later, three more victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center have been identified, including a Long Island man, city officials announced Thursday.

New York City Chief Medical Examiner and Mayor Eric Adams announced the 1,651st, 1,652nd, and 1,653rd persons to be identified through DNA analysis of remains recovered from the attack that claimed 2,753 lives.

Ryan Fitzgerald of Floral Park, Barbara Keating of Palm Springs, California, and an adult woman whose name was withheld at the family's request were the three to be positively identified. Fitzgerald was identified through remains recovered in 2002, and Keating through remains found in 2001.
