(NewsNation) – Singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson announced Wednesday that she was postponing the remainder of her Las Vegas residency “to be fully present” for her children while dealing with a family matter.
Clarkson, in posts to her social media accounts, had said that her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock had been sick.
The following day, People and TMZ reported that Blackstock had died.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away," a representative for Blackstock's family told People on Thursday. "Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time."
